Collaboration Alert! //Little Chimes X Wuitusu
Holy cow are we excited to share with you: Little Chimes first ever collaboration - and it’s with Wuitusu Wayuu Wearables!!
When we first moved back home to the West Coast 3 years ago we met Wuitusu in a mall, their vibrant, hand-made bags stood out in stark contrast to the gray-marble space and were totally stunning. We grabbed their card and kept it, always meaning to seek them out again.
Fast forward 3 years, one pandemic and this new, handmade venture we call Little Chimes, a mutual friend reintroduced us, insisting our earrings were a great pairing for Wuitusu- and gleefully, they agreed! So we created a special batch of earrings just for the Wuitusu brand, to pair with their delicious bags, hats and accessories. Available only through Little Chimes or at Wuitusu’s Hollywood and Highland shop!
Wuitusu, spearheaded by Lisset Verde and her husband, has grown into a coveted brand of must-have accessories here in Los Angeles and beyond.
Lisset shares: “Being born in Venezuela I have always known about the beautiful work the Wayuu people make. I have been in awe of the colors, motifs, and skills presented in their wares. In 2018, I had the opportunity to start working with the Wayuu people. This has been an exciting venture as it fulfills several aspects important to me: introducing their beautiful handcraft to a new market, and helping this community receive a steady income from the sale of their wares.”
As of now Wuitusu “working with a cooperative of about 40 Wayuu women in Riohacha, Colombia, a village in Uribia, Colombia, and several other individuals recognized by their workmanship and skill. In our designs, we mix our life experiences with Wayuu life to create a mix of traditional and novel, a multicultural concept.”
What’s more, Wuitusu is committed to “Beauty with a Conscience”. They have partnered with many organizations, including The Wayuu Taya Foundation, committing that each “$50 purchase from Wuitusu helps feed 5 Wayuu children.”
Little Chimes has decided to match that promise, and for every $50 earned on earrings from our collaboration we too will aid in feeding 5 Wayuu children!
